A
nation of lifelong learners is a society of individuals who are motivated to
learn and have the capacity to do so. There is little doubt that the nations
which will succeed in the 21st Century will be ‘knowledge societies’
– societies rich in human capital, effective in their capacity utilize and
deploy their capacity to utilize and deploy their human resources productively
and successful in the creation and commercialization of new knowledge.
It
is therefore essential that all types of learning needs be recognized and made
visible, according to their content, quality and outcomes rather than their
location and form. Such recognition acts as a powerful psychological and
economic incentive for participation in learning activities.
The introduction of the web skills in teaching and learning will definitely ensure a vibrant and lifelong learning environment in the Gambia.
Dear Faatue,
ReplyDeleteI have been using the net for about 15 years but in terms of education I started about a year ago. Yet still I haven't taught English the way we do in this course. In this course, we are going through a turning point. So I think we need to check our blog and emails every day not to mention doing a lot of researches and discussions. This is a big leap in education. Let's enjoy our trip.
